Dr. Kiosoglous is a scholar and expert in training and assessing coaching and leadership skills for high performing teams — from athletics, to business, education to health care. He is the president of the U.S. Center for Coaching Excellence, has coached with the U.S. national rowing team since 2002, including coaching in four Olympic games. He currently consults with the team in the areas of coaching development and sport science director. In addition, Kiosoglous has worked in collaboration with the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committees on coaching development and assessment programs.
U.S. National Rowing Team: Has coached with the U.S. National Rowing Team since 2002.
Four-Time Olympic Coach: Served as a U.S. Olympic rowing coach across four consecutive Games: Athens 2004, Beijing 2008, London 2012, and Rio 2016.
Sport Science & High Performance: Has served as Coordinator of Sport Science and Coaching Development Consultant for USRowing, helping integrate physiological testing, biomechanics, and data-driven methods into national team training pipelines.
Drexel University: Serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor and Program Director of the Sport Coaching and Leadership Program in the School of Education at Drexel University.
U.S. Center for Coaching Excellence (USCCE): Serves as President of the USCCE, leading initiatives to professionalize sports coaching, establish quality standards, and train coach developers across multiple Olympic national governing bodies.
International Coach Developer: Works with the International Council for Coaching Excellence (ICCE) and collaborates with the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) on coach education, ethics, and leadership assessment.
Advanced Degrees: Earned a Ph.D. in Adult Education and Human Resource Development from Virginia Tech, alongside master’s degrees in human performance systems (Marymount University) and Education (University of New England, Australia).
Scholarship & Publications: Authors chapters in coaching manuals and rowing texts, focusing on coach reflective practice, rowing biomechanics, athlete-centered leadership, and sport safety.
